Home of the Ponies! Pitts was established in 1960 and now has a student population of approximately 625. Our diverse student population is an accurate reflection of the city of Pueblo.

ATTENTION PITTS PARENTS! NEW DRESS CODE THIS IS EFFECTIVE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Pitts Middle School Dress Code
 
Beginning August 24, 2009, Pitts Middle School will initiate the following dress code to provide a “World Class” environment:
 
Shirts/Tops –
Polo Shirts – Short sleeve Dark Purple or Black are the only two colors that will be accepted and only with the official embroidered Pitts logo.  No plain tops or logos other than Pitts will be allowed. The shirts can not be over sized and may not be longer than the top of the legs. Layering is also not accepted. 
 
Hoodies - Dark Purple or Black are the only two colors that will be accepted and only with the official embroidered Pitts logo. No plain tops or logos other than Pitts will be allowed. The hoodie may be a pull over or front zipper. The hoodies can not be over sized and may not be longer than the top of the legs. The only acceptable shirt/top that can be worn under the hoodie would be the Pitts logo polo shirt.
 
 
Pants/ Shorts/Skirts-
Pants/Capris - Khaki and black are the only two colors that will be accepted. Pants must be solid colored and free from decals, rhinestones, chains, or any other decorations. No denim, cargo pockets or athletic pants will be accepted.

Skirts - Khaki and black are the only two colors that will be accepted. Skirts must be solid colored and free from decals, rhinestones, chains, or any other decorations. Skirts cannot be shorter than the top of the knee when standing. No denim will be accepted.
 
Keep in mind the following expectations per student handbook:
·         Shoe laces are to be the standard black and white that came with the shoe.
·         Belts cannot hang down
·         Coats are not allowed in the classrooms
·         Bags/backpacks/sport sacks are not allowed in the classrooms (they must be stored in the students lockers).
·         Torn pants/skirts/shorts are also not allowed. 
·         Sagging and oversized pants/skirts/shorts will not be allowed. 
·         Shirts can not be tied in the back. 
 
All other aspects of appropriate wear reflected in the District and School Dress code still apply i.e. Spandex or knit legging is not allowed.

Attention Parents
GALILEO PARENT PORTAL
The Galileo Parent Portal allows parents to access their children's benchmark scores, Individualized Education Plan, and standarized test results.  Parents are to use the same login/password as the student uses at school.  The parent will need to obtain this information from their children.  Once the parent has obtained log in information, please click on this link  GALILEO PARENT PORTAL

Pitts Traffic Enforcement
Effective January 5th, 2009, traffic enforcement will increase at all the school drop-off zones.  The Pueblo Police Dept. will strictly enforce all traffic laws, and tickets for violations will be issued.  It may be helpful to students and their families if you make mention of this in your classes during the coming week, and we'll be sure to post the notice on our web site. 

Infinite Campus - Parent Portal
How to for parents so that they can link to their students school information:

Parents can review a "How To" powerpoint by going to the Parent menu above and then select help.  On the help menu click on ICParent.ppt or ICParent.pdf for the document.

** There has been some question on how to view grades on the parent portal.  To view grades you need to go to your students schedule.  If you click on the "A+" you will see Current Assignments and scores for that course.

Parent Portal
 
Parents can have access to many student data sources by using the Parent Portal. To access the portal the parent must have an access number. To obtain the access number come by the school office and your number will be made available to you.   Through the Parent Portal you will be able to :
 
  • See your child’s attendance
  • See your child’s homework assignments
  • See your child’s Grades on completed homework assignments
  • Verify your contact information
  • Verify your student’s immunization record
  • View and print your student’s schedule
  • Print a “missing assignments” report
