Welcome to Lemuel Pitts Middle School
Home of the Ponies! Pitts was established in 1960 and now has a student population of approximately 500. Our diverse student population is an accurate reflection of the city of Pueblo. Welcome to Pitts Middle School. We are happy that you have selected our school for your middle school years. You will find that we have a wonderful staff dedicated to meeting your needs. We want your middle school experience - as a student or a parent - to be a positive and productive one. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns. We are eager to help. We have made a few changes to the uniform policy, which we feel will enhance your experience at Pitts Middle School. This year, students will be allowed to wear denim jeans in BLUE or BLACK as long as they fit appropriately. (No bagging, sagging, or dragging.) They must be free from writing, decorations, tears, or holes. In addition, we have added the color gold to our black and purple selection of polos. Our local uniform vendors have been notified, and they are aware of the changes.
This year, we have differentiated our start date in order to help our students transition into the new 2011-2012 school year. Please call the office if you have any questions.

Only 6th grade students will report on this day. We have a special day planned for all 6th grade students. Students will report at 8:30 and dismiss at 3:45. Parents are invited to attend an orientation from 8:30-9:30. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing along with sneakers or tennis shoes. Lunch will be served. No money needed.
